Crime Stoppers of Hamilton is an International and Provincial award winning program. To qualify for an award, a program must keep track of its results in several key areas. Year over year, these results show progress and are used to make improvements to the local program.
Crime Stoppers of Hamilton, Inc. began in May 1983 and has been tracking its results on a monthly and yearly basis ever since. A cash reward is approved by the Board when a tip or tips result in the clearance of a case or an arrest. The value of property recovered and the value of drugs seized are the statistic shown for this result type. In recent years, the Board decided to track the additional areas of firearms seized and arsons solved. These figures thus only reflect data kept since 2003.
Results are tabulated at the end of each month. The following table shows the Current Year results by month, for the year to date, and our accumulated statistics since the program started in 1983.
